Hello

My name is Andrew.

You are either reading this as a HGV Driver yourself or a Transport Manager or planner looking to book CPC Periodic Training for your team.  Like you I am both those things.

I hold a Certificate of Professional Competence in Road Haulage so most of my time is taken up being the nominated Transport Manager for a family run haulier in Leicester.  I am also an HGV driver (when I get the chance) and have all three of those magic plastic cards to take care of.  One of which is what this site is all about – the DQC (Driver Qualification Card).

How Smart Learn CPC came into being....

I, like those booking courses with Smart Learn CPC, need to undertake 35 hours or period training in each 5-year period in order to refresh my DQC and keep driving.  I’ve attended many a classroom course in my time and when good old COVID came along and forced a bit of a sea change to online learning in my opinion things got a little better.

Don’t get me wrong and I’m being honest here – online learning doesn’t suit everyone.  For those that drive Monday to Friday and do not want another trip to the office or base of operations, the fact we can now sit at home and train is a bit of a game changer.

Smart Learn CPC came along as a natural progression to my day job.  Living, breathing and often sleeping the myriad of rules and regulations involved in keeping the wheels of our great industry moving, lent itself to me getting involved training CPC courses.  So here I am.

About my Training Credentials

RTITB Trained in CPC Course Delivery, an NRI Driver CPC Instructor and also a member of the RTITB Master Driver Consortium along with DVSA and JAUPT Approved.  Fully set to offer and deliver up to date and engaging training on many relatable subjects.

The full list of courses available can be found here – so if you have any specific requirements drop me line and I am more than happy to tailor group courses around businesses specific training needs.

I also offer two-day Transport Manager refresher training in small group sessions, max. 5 candidates per session.  (again a little bit different to the rest).

What makes Smart Learn CPC different?

  1. I’m fully immersed up to my neck (and often beyond) in the industry I train in.

  2. I do the job the training relates to and am expected to abide by everything I teach.

  3. I’m keen on pricing and passionate about delivering fantastic training at some of the cheapest prices around (it needn’t be expensive or indeed a rip off to gain your CPC drivers hours – especially sat at home and not in a training centre).

  4. Low price but great training.

  5. I offer an ever expanding free to all Self-Help section with information, guides and videos on many aspects of the training offered through Smart Learn CPC.  So, you can refresh, top up and understand outside of a booked course – completely free of charge.

  6. Small group Transport Manager refresher training for that personal touch - max. 5 candidates per session.

Above all I’m passionate about this great but under appreciated sector and value every driver and transport manager out there.

Volunteering

When not “transporting” I coach our local U11’s Cobras football team at Shepshed Dynamo and I am also club chairperson.

Grassroots football plays an important part of children’s’ personal development.  Helping them meet new people, learn new life skills and develop lifelong friendships.  As such I am proud to be involved with the club.

Every member of the club is a volunteer and takes no payment for what they do!  As such Smart Learn CPC is also a proud Training Sponsor of the club.

Hope to see you soon.
